Frequently Asked Questions About Branding and Website Design

Boston Graphic Design Studio provides brand naming, brand identity design, website design, and graphic design for growing service businesses and established companies.

Find answers about working with the studio, project scope, pricing, timelines, revisions, and what to expect before starting a project.

Working With the Studio

How do I start a project with Boston Graphic Design Studio?

Start by completing the contact form with a brief overview of your business, project needs, goals, and preferred timeline.

If the project appears to be a good fit, a discovery call will be scheduled to discuss the scope, priorities, timeline, and next steps. After the call, you will receive a proposal outlining the deliverables, investment, payment schedule, and project terms.

The project begins once the agreement is signed and the initial payment is received.

How do I know if the studio is the right fit?

Boston Graphic Design Studio works with growing service businesses and established companies that need help with branding, website design, or both.

The studio is a good fit for businesses that value direct collaboration, clear communication, and a structured design process.

How are revisions handled?

Each proposal states the number of revision rounds included in the project. Feedback is collected at defined stages so revisions stay focused on the selected direction.

Additional revisions, new concepts, or requests outside the agreed scope may require an additional fee.

What happens if a project needs to be cancelled?

Cancellation terms are outlined in the client agreement and reviewed before work begins.

Payments already made are generally non-refundable because they cover completed work and time reserved on the studio schedule. Any outstanding balance for completed work, approved expenses, or work in progress will be due at cancellation.

Final files are released only for completed work that has been fully paid for.

Brand Naming

What is included in a brand naming package?

Brand naming starts with the business, positioning, audience, offers, and naming criteria before name options are developed.

Depending on the package, the project may include five business name options, preliminary domain availability research, rationale and recommendations, tagline development, and a short brand bio or business pitch.

How are potential business names evaluated?

Names are evaluated against the business positioning, audience, offers, competitors, pronunciation, memorability, and practical use across the brand.

Do you check domain availability?

Exact-match .com availability is reviewed during the naming process. When an exact-match domain is unavailable, appropriate alternatives may be considered.

Domain availability can change quickly, so a domain should be purchased promptly after the final name is selected.

Do you conduct trademark searches?

Boston Graphic Design Studio provides preliminary online research but does not offer legal trademark clearance or legal advice.

A qualified trademark attorney should review and legally clear the selected name before the business invests in registration, branding, signage, packaging, or a public launch.

Brand Identity Design

What is included in a brand identity project?

Depending on the package, a brand identity project may include brand strategy and visual direction, primary and secondary logo variations, color palette, typography, supporting visual elements, brand guidelines, and production-ready files for digital and print use.

The exact deliverables are defined in the selected package or proposal.

Is a brand identity more than a logo?

Yes. A logo is one part of a brand identity. The broader identity may include typography, color, logo variations, supporting visual elements, and brand assets that create consistency across your website, presentations, proposals, marketing, and other business materials.

How many logo concepts will I receive?

The number of initial concepts depends on the package you choose. Each package defines the concepts, revisions, and final deliverables before the project begins.

Can you work with my existing logo?

Yes. A complete rebrand is not always necessary. If parts of the existing identity are still working, we can determine what should be retained, refined, or replaced before defining the project scope.

What final brand files will I receive?

Final file formats depend on the selected package and may include PNG, JPG, SVG, EPS, PDF, and Adobe Illustrator files for digital and print use.

Website Design

What types of websites do you design?

Boston Graphic Design Studio designs and redesigns websites for growing service businesses and established companies, including one-page websites, multi-page service websites, portfolio websites, and other business websites based on project needs.

What is included in the website design process?

Depending on the package, a website project may include website strategy, sitemap and page structure, positioning and messaging support, content hierarchy, responsive website design, UI/UX and visual direction, integrations, on-page SEO foundations, testing, launch support, and platform training.

Which website platform will be used?

Boston Graphic Design Studio works with Squarespace, Wix, Wix Studio, Showit, and Duda. For WordPress projects, the studio provides website strategy, wireframes, UI/UX design, responsive page layouts, and developer-ready files for implementation.

Do I need to provide the website copy?

Clients provide the core website content and business information. Boston Graphic Design Studio provides page planning, content hierarchy, keyword guidance, and light copy refinement. Full copywriting can be scoped separately when needed.

Is SEO included with website design?

Website packages include foundational on-page SEO when listed in the project scope. This may include page and heading structure, metadata, internal linking, image alt text guidance, mobile-responsive design, and other foundational website SEO setup.
